emsys VPP and Pure Energy Strengthen Partnership in the German and International Balancing Power Market
Oldenburg/Düsseldorf, 6 February 2026 – emsys VPP and Pure Energy are further expanding their long-standing cooperation and are now also jointly entering the balancing power market. The two companies have been working together successfully in direct marketing since 2016 and are now reaching the next milestone in their partnership.
Using emsys VPP’s tried and tested Virtual Power Plant, Pure Energy is marketing balancing power in Germany for the first time. In addition to flexibility from wind and solar plants, the focus is particularly on battery storage to provide additional system services. At the same time, Pure Energy is planning to enter other European countries such as Estonia – a market in which emsys VPP already has extensive experience in connecting and controlling power plants for wholesale and balancing power marketing.

Pure Energy signs first-of-its-kind Flexibility PPA in Baltics with Mirova & Evecon's BREP
Pure Energy has signed a first-of-its-kind Flexibility & Power Purchase Agreement (FPPA) with Mirova and Evecon’s Baltic Renewable Energy Platform(BREP) in connection with the hybridization of the 77.5 MWp Kirikmäe solar PV plant with a 55 MW / 250 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), currently under construction.
The transaction integrates renewable electricity offtake with long-term flexibility optimization under a structured commercial framework, alongside c.€85 million in long-term financing provided by Swedbank.
By combining solar generation, storage capacity and structured market optimization, this transaction strengthens the bankability of hybrid assets and represents a milestone in the evolution of flexibility-based PPAs in the region.
